Hormonal imbalance, what kind of doctor?

Hey ladies. I’m 26 and my acne has been so awful the last few months! It’s primarily on my chin. After doing some research, I learned chin acne is a sign of a hormonal imbalance.

I have been on my period for 3 weeks.. But this is after going 11 months without a period. I have had the Nexplanon implant for two years, and was told this was normal. I figure maybe my period is so bad because I went so long without one.

Also, I’ve been emotionally unpredictable lately. I’ll cry over very small things, which is so unlike me. So I’m almost certain there is an imbalance happening.

My question is, is it worth going to a doctor for? The acne is my main concern, to be honest. But I’m not sure if I should go to a dermatologist or a gynecologist, or just a regular physician. I don’t have either lined up at the moment. I just switched insurance, and my regular gyno is no longer covered for me. I don’t want to go from one dr to be referred to the next.

Any info would help!!
