Thanks for creating this group and all of the free information.
I know there's more than enough to read and do, but I am hoping for a little insight into my particular situation.
I get angry when people complain about my work. It's the one thing I cannot control and is the achilles heel on my job. If I get complaints, I am no good. So when it occurs, I find it almost unbearable and either quit or try to stifle my anger in meetings but often unsuccessfully.
And I am having trouble with my wife, who for obvious reasons doesn't like it when I quit my job over complaints, even if I have savings for bills and it was just a part-time job.
What I want most is for someone to tell me how it happens and maybe what I can do. It's almost like it happens without me. And then after the spat, I just want to undo things I said... and mostly just want to undo my reactions. When someone hurts you.. or totally destroys your self-esteem with words, what is the proper reaction?
And then what can I do with my wife when she is having hormonal imbalances? I mean, it's obvious sometimes she has difficulty related to her menstrual cycle. But I can't rent a hotel room and leave every time she decides I am in need of a bitchfight. Is there anything I can repeat or say or do? I try asking her kindly not to provoke me, but this actually doesn't seem to work. Is there something else I can say or ask of her?
