Irregular periods question for women not taking any hormonal birth control. Any research available on estrogen and hormonal imbalance effect on menstruation resulting from low carb diets? Experiences and advice?

Hey Ladies! I know this question has come up numerous times and that keto causes weird things to happen to our cycles. Just wondering for those that have been on keto diets for a few months, did your cycle adjust back to normal?

I have always had a 28 day cycle every month, no irregular periods my entire life. This is my second go at keto, did lazy keto 18 months ago and lost 50 pounds, had no issues with my period. This time around I strive to keep the carbs under 25 grams a day, and macros in check. Today I’m a month into keto, lost 10 lbs and had my period as scheduled (9/11, 5 days long) then about a week later started bleeding like my period had arrived again. It’s beyond frustrating and I feel awful. I’m reading horror stories of month long plus periods and hope that’s not happening. Supplementing electrolytes and making sure I drink a lots of water. Hoping my body regulates its self soon.

How long did it take for your cycle (and body) to feel normal? Has anyone came across any reputable research on the subject? I’ve read conflicting information and am having a hard time finding anything scouring the internet.

Going to KCKO, hugs of support to all of you gals! 🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍
