Does this sound like endo returned or a side effect or progesterone?

In 2015 I had a lap done, it was confirmed I had endo on the underside of my uterus, and an excision was done. Since then, my cramps have been entirely manageable.

Starting in at least April, I began consistently bleeding a moderate amount 99% of the time almost every day. The other 1% was still a decent amount of brownish red discharge which only lasted a day to a day and a half if I was lucky. I haven't been able to go without wearing a pad since April. The end of June I finally admitted to myself it's not going away and saw my gynecologist. She ordered blood work to rule out a hormonal imbalance and did a pap to check for abnormal cells. Both tests came back normal. Earlier this month, I went back in and a sonogram including 3D images were done. My uterine lining was not properly shedding and had built up to 2.3 centimeters thick. During this entire ordeal I had no cramps or any other symptoms I usually get before my period begins. I was prescribed 200mgs of progesterone taken twice a day for 5 days to force a cycle. The cycle isn't supposed to start until 10 days after I stop the progesterone. But since I started taking it, my cramps have been getting worse every day. They're still not as bad as they were before my excision, but bad enough that OTC pain medication is no longer easing the pain.

Could this mean my endo is starting to return or could it be a side effect of the progesterone therapy? I'm nervous that if it's this uncomfortable before the forced cycle starts, that it'll be worse when it actually happens.
