Sudden acne/skin issues in PCOS-er with no skin involvement

Hi ladies,

I figured I'd pose this question even though I think I may know the answer. I always love to see feedback people get on here and it's always extremely helpful.

I switched to the Progestin-only birth control pill back in May due to my endo suspecting that my high blood pressure was possibly being caused by the estrogen in the combination pill. I have been on/off it since I was 17 (I am 31 now). Low and behold, 3 doctor visits I have had since then have all shown markedly reduced BP (went from about 135/95 to 120/85) so maybe there was some truth to her hunch.

Anyway, I have really started to notice skin issues. I never really had acne as a symptom of PCOS or even in my teen years. I actually would say I typically have dry skin. My skin and hair is now really oily and greasy by mid afternoon,so much that I have to use dry shampoo midday, and I have been breaking out like crazy - mostly in the chin and jaw area, (large, painful bumps that don't go away easily like some pimples do) which I read is usually indicative of a hormone imbalance. I've ruled out almost everything else (dirty pillowcase, touching my face, makeup, face wash) so I'm starting to wonder if it's coming from within.

Could this have something to do with the new , progestin-only pill or the lack of the estrogen my body is so used to being exposed to for years? Or some sudden hormonal shift due to the new pill? Admittedly, I have not had the best diet in the last couple months, so that is the other factor I am now actively trying to rule out by cleaning up my diet. Wondering if anyone else has a similar experience to mine or has some insight into this.

Thanks in advance!
