At what point is hair a sign of hormonal imbalance?

Hi everyone! I often have 1-2 cm black hairs on my arms/chest, or shorter stubble type stuff on my face. It’s hard to tell if this is normal or a sign of something being off, since all the women in my life remove pretty much all hair. Does anyone have experience with hair as a symptom of a medical problem, or is this common and just surprising to me because of a failure of accurate representations of women’s bodies? For context, I’m 20 years old, have naturally thin/straight light brown hair, have pretty bushy eyebrows, and am American with most of my ancestors from Ukraine.

(I know mustaches and toe hairs and whatnot are common for women, but the longer hairs elsewhere seem like they could be different?) Follow up question - anyone have recommendations for dealing with black facial hairs that doesn’t involve waxing my entire face?
