Expected time out of work?

I had my initial appt with a new GYN last week. She’s receptive to the idea that I want a hysterectomy. I go on the 4th for ultrasounds, and back to my GYN on the 12th, at which point she will submit to my insurance the request for surgery. That can take about 2 weeks, and then the surgery will be scheduled.

For reference: I am turning 40 this year. I’m childfree by choice. I have PMDD, Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding, and anxiety caused by my hormones being imbalanced. I’m requesting a complete hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. I want it ALL gone. I’m a bit concerned that she may recommend I keep my ovaries due to age/menopause/etc. I’m concerned that keeping my ovaries is a mistake, because my ovaries are the root cause of all of the evils in the world- or at least all of my hormonal imbalances. Assuming the GYN agrees with me & my GP (and I think she will), this is what I’ll have.

What am I looking at for healing time? Is it unreasonable for me to think I’ll be able to go back to work after a week, as long as I’m on light duty, and just (essentially) sitting at my desk?
