I’m 14, and I started my period almost 2 years ago. I’ve been recording it in an app ever since it started, and it’s always come each month. I’ve had ~28 periods so far.
This month, on the day I was expecting my period I got discharge instead. It was just a bit sticky, nothing out of the ordinary. I wasn’t worried at first but it’s 4 days late now and I’m still getting discharge. I had cramps about a week before (which has happened before) but still, no period.
Maybe 4 days is a bit too early to go into panic mode but I’d rather be safe than sorry. I’ve obviously never had sex, and I’m not particularly stressed nor ill. I know hormonal imbalance can cause missed periods (especially in adolescents), but the thing is that my cycle has always been normal and suddenly it’s a bit late.
Is it normal to have off-months like this, and does anyone have their own experiences to share?
EDIT: I honestly hate myself. Barely even MINUTES after I posted this, I started bleeding.... I should’ve known this would happen lol.
Anyway, I’m still curious about if it’s normal or not, and what I should do if it goes on for over a week :)
