Reasons beyond diet/hormones for hair breakage?

I’ve always had decent hair. It wasn’t thick but it wasn’t thin. Even when i had an eating disorder my hair was somehow at its best.

Anyways. I was struggling last summer with a hormonal imbalance due to a steroid i was on. Once i went off, my hormones stabilized and my hair was getting better.

But it’s breaking like mad again lately. It looks like i have bangs. I’m medicine-free. I track my intake. I eat my fruits and veggies and get enough good fats. I use Nizoral 1x/week, and then i use NYM Melon shampoo 1x/week. I do not brush my hair ever, i just run my hands through it, and i can’t remember the last time i used heat of any kind on my hair.

I’ve had blood work done recently and everything looks fine so i’m stumped. Even my thyroid checked out, which i know can affect your hair. I supplement Vitamin A 1x/week, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Magnesium, and B12. I take collagen supplements on occasion as well.
