[Acne] Is Birth Control Making My Acne Worse?

For about 2 years I was on a birth control Aviane and then switched to Aubra for 3 years. When I talked to my doctor, I mentioned that switching to Aubra caused me to have a problem with clogged pores all over my face but, mostly around my mouth. It also caused me to gain about 20 lbs so she decided to prescribe me Lo Loestrin Fe since that was a low dose BCP. I’ve been on it for 2 months and I’ve been using Differin for about 3 months. Differin makes my skin feel a lot smoother but, with the combination of the two, I am now experiencing painful cysts. They get worse around my period so I know they are most likely hormonal so I’m having problems getting my skin clear. I did some research about hormone imbalances and I think that’s what I’m experiencing. I heard that evening primrose oil helps so I started taking those about 2 weeks ago which seems to help with some of my symptoms but I’m still experiencing painful cysts.

My routine is:
Morning (6:30 am)
Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash (2% salicylic acid)
Neutrogena Leave on mask (2.5% benzoyl peroxide) - only when I have active cysts
Neutrogena oil free sensitive skin moisturizer

After work (5:30 pm)
Ponds cold cream cleanser or garnier micellar water (pink cap)
Vanicream gentle facial cleanser
Neutrogena hydro boost hydrating serum
Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream

Before bed (9:30pm)
BC (lo loestrin fe) Evening primrose oil capsule Differin
Neutrogena Leave on mask (2.5% benzoyl peroxide)
Neutrogena oil free sensitive skin moisturizer

Any suggestions?
