I (19F) have benign migratory glossitis/geographic tongue. It flares up around my period and want to know what hormone is causing this?

I was diagnosed as a baby and it started coming up less frequently. It now only really flares during my PMS time before my period. That must mean there’s a hormone imbalance during that time or a hormone increases? Because I’ve been on birth control for a week now and I’ve just finished my period but my tongue is permanently flared up. So I was just wondering if it was just a hormone imbalance (like adjusting) or if it’s a certain hormone. Any suggestions appreciated!
