female pattern hairloss- regular periods, doc says Spiro etc. is only for those w hormonal imbalance.
so I've been diagnosed w FPHL for about a year now. Minox initially really helped but now even though there is regrowth, the hairfall hasn't been controlled. Which is very worrying for me.
I asked my doc about Spiro or related oral medication. He says since my periods are regular and there's no signs of PCOS, and it's not hormonal related hairloss- therefore Spiro will not be effective/safe/recommended for me.
He said he could recommend blood work to check hormone levels but it would be a ginormous waste of money + the current covid scenario makes hospitals unsafe.
Does this diagnosis make sense?
If yes, how do I control the hairfall?
Overall I'm really really happy with my doc. He was the first and only one to take my hairfall seriously. After so many dismissed me and told me it's "normal". So I want to trust him but I'm really concerned about hair falling out.
P.S: I'm based in India, and if anyone here has gotten PRP treatments done for their hair please hit me up! I'm considering asking for them because my hairline has receded quite a bit and there's balding on my crown. I'm constantly stressed about my hair!
