Just had my iud removed yesterday. I am wondering if this has been the cause of BV, or pH imbalance, as well as bloating, hormonal acne, fatigue, lower libido, and slight weight gain. Insertion was suuuper uncomfortable, made me want to keep it in the full 5 years tbh, BUT removal was quick and easy. Only slight discomfort or cramping for a couple seconds.
My Period pretty much disappeared/would be very light in comparison to having a heavy period before. The period getting lighter or going away was pretty much the only thing great i have to say about mirena other than not getting pregnant. I would occasionally experience spotting after sex, but just recently I had a somewhat normal period which was kind of odd.
I’m hoping I don’t experience mirena crash, I have a bit of a headache but I think it could be coincidental.
Im wondering if any of you experienced BV or yeast infections due to mirena? I tend to be sensitive to everything when it comes to my skin, so I’m thinking this wouldn’t be too different. Even condoms seem to throw off my pH at times. I am thinking boric acid to regulate pH now after getting it removed- that’s also what my nurse suggested when i voiced my concerns.
