Did people back in ancient times really not see teenagers as any different than adults?

Like, I understand that there wasn't really a distinct "teenager" phase in life back then. But, did people in their 40s, for instance, not even see them as young or immature? Teenagers are teenagers regardless of the social constructs around them. So, surely even back then, they must have gotten at least some acne, mood swings, ate a lot, had voice cracks, feel maybe some form of insecurity and hormonal imbalances, made bad or inclusive decisions, etc. Did no one really take notice of that? Did they still see a 15yr old as just as adult as a 30yr old?
