My gum recession has been really rapid and came about in the last year since being on/off vegan. I struggled with binge eating (mostly nuts/nut butters and granolas/granola bars) during this time. I also haven’t had a period in a year since stopping birth control - so hormonal imbalance is also prevalent. I was recently diagnosed PCOS with too much estrogen present.
My periodontist suggests the pinhole surgery. I’d really not like to do that. I’d like to change my diet to stop the recession and ultimately save my gums. Has anyone else struggled with this in accordance to a binge eating disorder? My teeth are starting to become worse and I’m growing really nervous but I really really would not like to have a surgery.
