When you’re on your period, your hormones undoubtedly change. We all know the stereotypes of people with uterus’s being “crazy” during their periods. But the hormone imbalance is real and very hard to deal with. I get irrationally angry, devastatingly upset, I have 0 patience, and because I have an IUD it takes a few days for me to be like “oh shit, it’s that time. During these times, I genuinely feel like I’m unmedicated again and it’s the most frustrating feeling. I’ve spoken to my doctor about it and we have decided to up my meds during my period but I don’t know that it’s helping much. Maybe because I need to do a better job of anticipating it starting, I don’t know. Does anyone else experience this? What do you do? I get so embarrassed after these episodes because it was all just my periods fault and I lashed out on people because of it. I partially needed to vent or yell into the echo chamber that is this sub but I also want to know that I’m not the only one.
