I have lynch syndrome, which means I have a 44% chance of uterine cancer. Typically the age it is recommended to get a hysterectomy is 35 but I have a unique opportunity to afford it and have someone to care for me right now. I have been told a hysterectomy this young also increases risks of other cancers.
I have awful hormone imbalance (estradiol of <5.5 and progesterone of <0.5) and need some sort of hormone replacement. I was told HRT has its own increased cancer risks.
How much should I be worried? Is it worth waiting to get a hysterectomy? I feel like I’m gambling here and any insight will help me understand all of this.
