POSITIVE POST! I thought I would share my top 10 best tips i’ve applied for 5 years to make PCOS your bitch 🌱🌻(lifestyle + lowering stress focused)

Hi! I was diagnosed with PCOS at 17 and I had every symptom on the planet (f.e: hirsutism, insulin resistance, massive moodswings, my skin was a oily mirror, massive water retention). I therefore know how shitty PCOS is from first hand and I want to help with what I found out that truely helps. Since my diagnosis I’ve did a complete 180 to treat my symptoms with lifestyle changes. I’m going to make this as straightforward and straight to the point as possible, so it’s all clear! But definitely hit me up if you want to know more. My top 10 tips: 1. Stress is our biggest enemy. If something is bringing you stress and you can eliminate it (think friendships, jobs, pressure) do it. Nothing is more important than your health. 2. Putting your body on a very low calorie diet puts tremendous amounts of stress on your body and reproductive system. If you aren’t losing weight and/or your pcos symptoms spiral, this may be why. I know you’re telling yourself ‘but I am just not losing weight if I eat more than 120 calories per day’ and that is true, for now. You need to heal and balance your hormones first. Please slowly up your calories atleast slightly (1500-1800 per day minimum) and add some healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, ghee, nuts, coconut). Our hormones love fats! 3. Animal products and dairy products increase the amount of inflammation that is present in the body, again increasing the amount of stress present in our body and increasing PCOS symptoms (a low(er) carb vegan diet worked wonders for me personally. If anyone would like some help or info you can always DM me) 4. A lack of sleep increases stress, PCOS symptoms and hormonal imbalance. Try to get atleast 6-8 Hours 5. Mental stress is also MAJOR. Don’t be so hard on yourself! We’re trying everyday to get to the best health possible, and that is enough. Perfectionism isn’t necessary and perfect doesn’t exist. 6. Supplements are our best friend! I would personally advice omega 3 (preferably algae based), saw palmetto, inositol, magnesium, and a solid day and night vitamin combination specially made for women. You can add Curcuma to support our liver (which has it rough when we have pcos). 7. There is a correlation between a healthy gut and gut bacteria and a decrease in probiotics. Taking a probiotic supplement did wonders for me, but eating more kimchi or coconut yoghurt/kefir can help too! 8. Find out your PCOS type first. Not every supplement, lifestyle measure or even medication works for every type of PCOS. You might have been working so hard but in the wrong direction 9. Regular blood work is your best pal: learn how to read blood work charts so you can know what your own hormones are doing and where to take action. I would also advice doing a EMDB blood test (which is a way more invasive blood test that also tests all your levels) 10. Focus on you first and take care of you first! Your health is number 1 and so are you! Maybe run a bit less hard for other people (us women and especially mothers tend to do that) but let them take care of you for once. It will feel weird, but you deserve it.

We got this! I have way more tips, so if you guys are interested I could definitely do a second post, so please let me know if this is something you would like!
