Period symptoms but no period?

Some context: I didn’t have a period for about 6 months. Was prescribed provera in September for 7 days, it brought a period on. I logged this period in Flo so I could keep track, then I waited to see if my period would regulate. According to Flo, I should have gotten my next period last Friday. That week, leading up to the predicted start date, I experienced the usual period symptoms - acne, tender breasts and mild cramping (I have never really suffered too much from cramping or any PMS symptoms so light cramps is typical for me) but no period. TMI but had very small amount of pinkish discharge on one day which got my hopes up. I’m confused - is this normal? Perhaps I need another round of provera - the thing that’s confusing me is the fact I experienced symptoms that indicate my period is starting, around the time that I should be due on. I’m also fairly sure this has happened a couple times previous too. I’m wondering if this may be a sign that my cycle is regulating itself? Has anybody who has had an absent period in the past noticed this sort of gradual lead up to a regular cycle?

It’s really disheartening to be honest ):

I have not been diagnosed with PCOS yet, not even sure if a diagnosis is likely. I have seen a gynaecologist - who prescribed me the provera - and I am on a waiting list to see her again for a follow up. I just thought somebody on here may have experienced something similar and may be able to offer me some consolation.

I think I may have a hormonal imbalance but that’s just my theory and may not be true.
