Hey everyone, needed some advice about LHR. I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about it, myself included. I'm about to be 21 years old this summer, and was considering getting LHR again. I actually had it 4 years ago on my face and neck, but back at the time I was doing absolutely nothing to control my actual PCOS. Because of that, doing laser was useless as my underlying hormone imbalance was still there. It actually made my situation worse as I had to shave my face for the first time, and ever since then my hair just grows way way thicker. I actually had started the pill earlier on during that time but because of my age my doctor only prescribed it for a couple months. I think if I had carried on the pill it might have made a difference.
I have recently started taking the pill again in January. The effect has been immediate, my hair grows really slowly and is quite a lot weaker. However as soon as I stop taking the pill (had a 10 day gap where I couldn't get my hands on due to some admin problems), the hair starts growing at the same pattern as before.
Now that I know the pill has a good control over my hormones, and I am also trying to lose weight, I am wondering about having another go at LHR. But this time, I am not stopping the pill. I am more than happy to go take it indefinitely if not permanently, and I have a feeling that LHR will actually work this time. I would love to know someone's take on this who had a similar experience!!
Td:lr= should I start having LHR again now that I'm permanently on the pill (which helps a lot), even though I tried laser before and it did nothing when I was on no medication for my pcos?
