I'm currently pregnant with a "covid-oops" baby and because of a few complications, its pretty much a guarantee that I'll end up needing a hysterectomy.
Before I got pregnant I was begging my husband to get a vasectomy. We have been together for nearly 20 years and I have always been on one from of birth control or another (the pill, the patch, the shot, 4 seperate IUDs...). We had been trying for another baby, but after a year we changed our minds and I was reluctant to get yet another IUD inserted. Fucking ouch. Stupid me, I'm due this summer. The family planning method DOES NOT work, kids. Don't do what I did.
Anywho, my husband and I were watching a show on the couch last night when he casually turns to me and says, "I'm so glad I never got that vasectomy! My poor balls!"
You guys, this man went on to tell me how sad he would have been if he had gotten snipped only to find out that I need a hysterectomy. He would have been violated... for nothing! A man's testicles are important to his manhood. I asked him if he was drunk and then I lost my shit.
I have been through years of pain, allergic reactions, hormonal imbalances and not once has he had to worry about birth control. It has been my burden to carry. THE LEAST he could have done was get a vasectomy when I asked so I never would have needed a hysterectomy to begin with. I'll be in the hospital for several weeks and this is going to cost us thousands of dollars. A vasectomy is covered by our insurance.
I screamed, I yelled, I stormed out and went to bed. I love this man, but sometimes he says the dumbest shit! Ugh!
