As the title says, I’ve never tried any forms of birth control in my life and I’m looking into permanent sterilisation because of where the US is heading regarding birth rights and bodily autonomy.
Hormonal issues and imbalances run in my family so hormonal BC is out of the question. Barrier methods are useless since I’m not sexually active and never plan to be at any point. A copper IUD could worsen my period and I don’t want that since it’s bad enough as is. It seems like a sterilisation would make sense for me and I’m set on a bisalp at some point, preferably sooner rather than later.
Would it be harder for me to obtain the surgery because I’ve never tried anything else? I know I’ll likely get pushed towards temporary BC but will it straight-up prevent me from getting a sterilisation at all?
