Stubborn fat deposits on the upper abdomen, upper arms, and flanks. Is it genetic?

I don't know if this is necessarily the right community to post this in, but worth a shot! I am 23M and have experienced some significant body transformations in my adult life. I grew up very overweight (5'11 and 238 lbs at my heaviest), and much of my family also continues to be overweight. When I moved out at 18, I regimented myself to a strict calorie deficit and gym protocol, and within 9-10 months, I was 6'0 and 155 lbs.

Despite being thin, I continued to hold some fat on my upper arms, lower chest, upper abdomen, and flanks. I've tried several different strategies to lose these deposits (IF, Keto, and others.) As a result, in the past couple of years, I have put on approximately 20lbs of lean muscle (6'0 and 177) and have a relatively higher metabolic rate. However, these areas remain stubborn despite consistent training.

My father carries his fat in the same areas, having a heavy upper mid-section but a relatively thin waist and skinny legs. I'm wondering if I am potentially genetically pre-disposed to carrying my body fat in these areas or whether I should get my bloodwork done for potential hormonal imbalances. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
