Hey y’all. I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS for 2 years now after having a cyst burst. My doctor based it on me having polycystic ovaries, mild hirsutism, and occasional irregular periods, though the last seems to only be an issue when I have an active cyst. I also have lean PCOS and tend to avoid carbs pretty easily so I think it tends to keep my shit under control. That said - my androgen levels came back normal at the time of my diagnosis. I have an appointment with my doctor coming up (burst another cyst a month ago lol, fucked me up) and I’m thinking I should ask to get my progesterone and estrogen levels tested, and my insulin levels because PCOS be like that. I’ve had an incredibly low sex drive for about a year prior to my diagnosis - I can’t tell if this had to do with a traumatic event that happened around that time, or a hormonal imbalance, but I just wanted to know if any of y’all have experienced similar symptoms with regular androgen levels. He’s an awesome doctor and always down to send me to a specialist if I’m worried about something, I just have trouble stating my case sometimes, so any advice on tests I should get would be helpful. Oh and FWIW I’ve never been on hormonal BC.
