This question might be problematic and let me know if so. If everybody has varying degrees of estrogen/testosterone, has science just socially created the binary of male / female hormones? I feel like everyone i know , cisgender and trans, have all kinds of hormonal imbalances and hormonal issues. With the history of institutionalizing lgbtqia, I wonder if hormone replacement therapy serves the idea that there is something mentally wrong with trans people. I get gender reaffirming surgeries because there are no long term unknown effects really but I wonder if hrt is a bandaid with repercussions that are unknown.
