6'1 175lbs Male 36
On Test Replacement Therapy for two years. Daily Testosterone Propionate.
Injected into quad subcutaneously. I'm used to occasional post-injection pain. Sprayed area down heavily with 91% iso alcohol. Sprayed vial Injected. Needle pain mostly unnoticeable (per usual). Actual flow of substance into leg is usually not painful, but this time it hurt more and burned (I figured perhaps some alcohol on the surface of my skin went in with the needle.) Burned for about 15 seconds after and within about 5 minutes immediately started to hurt in my right inguinal lymph node.
Three days later the area is raised, red, and covers a largish area. I do know the importance of time associated with cellulitis or intramuscular/subcutaneous infections due to a motorcycle accident in 2021. Had staph aureus during the visit and went septic. know the risks associated with bacteria getting under the skin (risk of cellulitis, abscess, etc)
Set up Teladoc appointment and doc thinks it looks more like a basic inflammatory reaction. Prescribed Cephalexin 500mg 4x daily just in case. (Thankful for that) I'm monitoring for change currently.
If it's a basic inflammatory reaction, okay. No big deal. I'm just not used to it being a bit more severe like this. If this is due to something that got in that was on the surface of my skin, it shouldn't be a huge issue as it could be unlikely to happen again.
Worries/Questions: I paused injections for the moment, which I'm not liking the hormone imbalance. Let's say the testosterone in the vial is contaminated somehow. I have very little left before the vial is empty. Perhaps three shots left.

If I'm on this Cephalexin, and I return to my daily shots, what happens if the last three shots are also contaminated? Will the Cephalexin knock out anything contaminated over the course of those three days/shots?

The pain in the lymph nodes bothers me. I know that lymph swelling can occur with testosterone injections, but this pain was super intense and the right inguinal one swelled up pretty large. Painful to the touch and pretty firm. Thoughts?
Not sure which flair to use, but settled on Urgent shrug Thanks!
