Hello! I am an 18F. I originally started off with the Kyleena, my body did not like it. I had everyday bleeding for months. Now, I have had the Mirena IUD for a little over 2 years. Recently I have been feeling pretty shit: insane mood swings, tender breasts, sleeping issues, a little cramping, back pain. I thought I was pregnant but tests kept coming back negative. After sex one day with my boyfriend I was on the couch, could barely walk. The cramping was really quite bad. I went to the ER and they found a 45mm cyst on my left ovary. Negative for pregnancy on the blood test. The cyst explains the crazy hormone imbalance and the symptoms. I have been doing research on IUD and how it may be connected with the cyst. As well as IUD connection to yeast infections, which I have been dealing with a lot of since the insertion. Even though the IUD may not be to blame, I have started to feel uncomfortable with the fact that I don't have my period anymore. I feel really out of contact with that part of femininity. I don't even remember what its like to have a period haha. I want to try non hormonal birth control. What do people think about the copper iud? Or other methods? I am also scared of what I might go through once the hormones are stopped and how it may effect my body and mental health. I don't know where to start or what will be good for my body because I haven't tried anything but a hormonal IUD. Any advice or experience would help. Thank you all and sending love :)
