Hi all. I just got a spiro prescription due to severe hair loss after quitting the bc pill. I was on Yasmim for 12 years. My hair was thick and skin was perfect. Once I quit the pill, lost tons of hair and started getting acne. I’ve since been able to manage my acne, but my hair is so fine and brittle, I’m hopeful spiro will help. I’m feeling confident that my hair loss was due to hormonal imbalance post bc/loss of estrogen due to being on the pill for so long.
I also have cysts on my ovaries and oily skin/scalp, so also have a referral to a Gyno as well to see if PCOS is the root cause.
He’s starting me at 25mg. Reading this subreddit, I’m a bit apprehensive. My skin is basically fine, but I want to try spiro to see if my hair thickens. I’m a bit worried about the side effects.
Anyone with a similar story have results? Specifically for their hair?
