confused about the link between PCOS and eating disorders

i have seen online that there is believed to be some relationship between PCOS and eating disorders. is anyone able to explain this to me

does the imbalance of hormones lead to something changing psychologically causing the eating disorder

or is it because PCOS can lead to weight gain it then causes poor self image that leads to the eating disorder

or is it maybe a combination/its different for everyone.

i just thought it would be interesting to find out as i suffered from an eating disorder as a teenager despite not really having much hatred for my appearence so maybe it was hormone related.
