Electrolysis to correct paradoxical hypertrichosis?

A couple of years ago I was really young and went in for laser hair removal and ended up doing it on my face. I have no idea why I agreed to it because I had no hair on my face just the regular peach fuzz. A couple of months later I noticed really dark thick hairs growing out of my lower face that I never had before. I went in for tests at various labs and triple-checked for my thyroid or a hormone imbalance, anything to explain what was going on but everything came back clear. I realized the only drastic thing I had done to my face was apply the laser hair removal machine on it and went online to see that this is a problem that many women encountered and I feel so dumb. I had no idea and if I knew that would've been a risk I would've NEVER done it.

The hairs I have a really sparse but they drive me crazy. It's become an obsessive thing for me and I and constantly checking my face/tweezing hairs. With the obsessive tweezing, I've actually begun damaging my skin and this has become very upsetting for me :( I feel like a ruined my face and have insecurities I never have had before.

I saw that electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method and I booked an appointment last week. I guess my question is has anyone else experienced this and can I correct this problem? I've always been a hairy girl but having thick black hair on my face is something I cannot stand and it's been really hard. I feel like less of a woman. Also if you have gone through this, any tips for treatment, what I should ask the technician, and what modalities to use? I have fair skin and black hair if that matters
