Hormonal Birth Control Side Effects and Experiences

Hello!

I started taking Natazia (a combo pill with more natural estrogen) about 10 years ago in my early 20s for severe bleeding, PMS, and fatigue. It seemed to fix all my problems. I suddenly developed allergies out of the blue about a year after that, and then about 2 years ago I crashed hard and got diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Histamine Intolerance.

After exploring pretty much every possibility, it seems like hormone imbalance was my trigger. I had an incredibly low testosterone value, possibly birth control related; however, the doctor doesn't think this level of testosterone could be due to birth control alone. We did not take me off of birth control to measure my hormones, as that could could other health complications, so we were unable to assess my progesterone/ estrogen ratio accurately. Since estrogen dominance is frequently associated with histamine intolerance, so we weren't sure if the added estrogen is helping or hurting. She seems like a very knowledgeable doctor, but she keeps giving me choices and I feel at a loss at which choices to make.

First I had the following options:

Option 1: Add testosterone to Natazia. Option 2: Go off of everything for 1 month and hope that I don't severely trigger my chronic condition Option 3: Try a progesterone only pill, which could possibly free up more testosterone. Also this could help us determine if adding estrogen was helping or hurting me.

I chose option 3 and started on Errin a month ago. I've been experiencing even worse fatigue, tingling sensation, headaches, nausea, dizziness/ lightheadedness, genital pain and swelling, nipple pain, and lots of cramping (ranging mild to severe). Fluctuations in hormone levels and ovulation in particular seem to bring out severe Histamine Intolerance symptoms.

My doctor is now giving me the option to:

1: Try this a bit longer, as she thinks I may be slowly acclimating 2: Switch to Slynd to gage if I would tolerate a different form of progestin only pill (my insurance doesn't cover it, so it would be $25 with a discount coupon) 3: Go back to Natazia and when I reacclimate add testosterone from there.

Ultimately testosterone will get added either way, and will hopefully help my fatigue/ exersize intolerance, if not my actual Histamine Intolerance. I know y'all likely aren't medical professionals, I'm mostly just trying to gage if those are normal side effects in the first month if this adjustment is a normal experience for HIT patients.

Have there been any birth controls that have helped more than others?

Thanks for reading! I greatly appreciate any advice or experiences you have to share!
